BANK holiday celebrations got into full swing as people gathered to enjoy music, food and drink in Salisbury.

The George and Dragon kicked-off its two-day Cider Fest yesterday (Saturday, August 27) with live music, a barbecue and 20 different ciders.

Today (Sunday, August 28), there's more music for people to enjoy in the beer garden from 6pm with acts Somehow I'm Home, Deloreons Duo and Lauren and Hardy along with an open mic where local musicians who wish to turn up on the night are welcome.

The event is part of Taste Salisbury, which got underway on Friday (August 26) for a 10-day celebration of food and drink. Organised by Salisbury BID, Taste Salisbury is a celebration of the array of food and drink venues, producers and sellers that can be found in the city and local region.

This year's programme has a mix of events, exclusive menus and special offers which includes local Salisbury independent businesses, national chains and attractions like Salisbury Cathedral.

Another event taking place today as part of Taste Salisbury is Streetlife at Brown Street. The festival features live DJs playing soulful music including House and tropical from 2pm to 9pm. Entry is free.
