SALISBURY Cathedral will once again become an open-air cinema, with a touring company bringing a variety of films to the city.  

Adventure Cinema was formed in 2019 by two brothers – Ben Lovell and Mark Thompson and the company has already delivered 200 shows at venues across the country.

Adventure Cinema co-director, Ben Lovell said: “We are delighted to announce that the 2023 tour will be our biggest yet.

“This season’s selection of film features something for everyone, from award-winning new releases to old school classics and films for the whole family - and is perfect for those who love the cinema and the great outdoors. We can’t wait to bring everyone together once again for some unforgettable cinema experiences.” 

The first film on Adventure Cinema’s Salisbury list is Dirty Dancing followed by a sense of 80s nostalgia with Tom Cruise starring in the latest Top Gun Film.  

The list of films scheduled for Salisbury include:

  • Dirty Dancing is scheduled for Thursday, August 24 at 8.45 pm
  • Top Gun: Maverick is scheduled for Friday, August 25 at 8.45 pm
  • Mamma Mia is scheduled for Saturday, August 26 at 8.45 pm
  • The Greatest Showman Sing-A-Long is scheduled for Sunday, August 27 at 8.45 pm

Screenings will take place in the cathedral grounds. Hot food and snacks will be available but people can also, bring along picnics.  

Cinemagoers can book tickets now to secure their place choosing between standard and premium tickets.
