I would like to say a big thank you, to the Salisbury City Corporate Dept [Council] and St Thomas's Church for a very moving and well conducted Civic Service to Celebrate the City Charters and the fifth Anniversary of the Salisbury Novichok incident.

I was however very disappointed to see apart from the Mayor and Mayoress only four City Councillors present out of 24.

I have noticed that over the past few years the numbers attending services has dwindled, apart say from Remembrance Day when there is a large public present and they wish to be seen, but then not all attending Church Service.

Whatever their religion or belief, it should be seen as a coming together of the Council, forgetting politics for a time.

Some members seem to forget they are only parish councillors, but use social media to publicise themselves intensively, but when it comes to supporting those citizens and support services that kept the city safe, and got it back to normal, and celebrate the City Charters giving the City its freedom to trade and run itself, stay away.

I hope they will think that even attending a service they are representing their constituents and holding together the fabric on which the City is built.
