CHILDREN at Zouch Primary School in Tidworth will be getting fit while raising money for the Help for Heroes appeal.
On June 25 pupils, who are taking part in the Get Fit Kids programme, will be treated to a display by a professional gymnast and will then learn a routine for which they are being sponsored - with half the money raised going to Help for Heroes and the rest to Save the Children.
The "Olympian Spirit" will continue into the afternoon when the school will be holding its major summer fundraiser, this time to support the school itself.
Under the theme of the Olympics, classes will perform arena events as well as enjoying all the normal fun and sideshows of a school fete.
From 3pm to 5.30pm local families and friends can share in one of the most popular events of the school year, which is being supported by both the local military and businesses.
Acting Headteacher Pauleen Lawes said: "I have been really impressed with the many offers of help and items donated for this years summer fundraiser. Parents, friends, local businesses and the Tidworth Garrison have all rallied around to give us their support and prove that we are an important part of the local community."
