A Redlynch artist enjoyed her first solo exhibition at Hanger Farm Arts Centre in Totton.
Lucinda Nicholas, 60, has been painting watercolours for 10 years and is a member of Plain Arts Salisbury, Salisbury Group of Artists and Salisbury Arts Scene.
Although she has had pieces shown in multiple joint exhibitions, including events at the Salisbury Library and Salisbury District Hospital, the event in Totton, which ran from Tuesday, April 4 to Friday, April 28, is the first time during her decade of painting that she has had an exhibition focused solely on her work. She said a solo exhibition was on her bucket list.

Lucinda said: “I’ve done joint exhibitions with other artists but I’ve never done one of my own, and it’s amazing how many artists I’ve spoken to who also said they’ve never done a solo one either.”
The exhibition featured 49 pieces by Lucinda of plants and animals, two of Lucinda’s favourite topics, in addition to leisure scenes, such as cyclists and mountain climbers, and landscapes.
Lucinda also hosts art classes at her studio in Redlynch, and the first annual exhibition of her students’ work took place at Redlynch Village Hall in June 2022.
