A motorbike was reported stolen in broad daylight after its owner was forced to leave it unattended.

The owner of the blue Honda CBR 1000 suffered a punctured tyre during the morning hours of Saturday, June 17.

He locked his bike and left it in a layby on the A354 Salisbury Road, across from Bake Farm.

Upon his return, he discovered the bike had been stolen.

The incident took place between 9.30am and 10am on June 17. Wiltshire Police is now appealing to the public for help in identifying the perpetrator and returning the bike to its rightful owner.

This would mark the second time this year police in the Salisbury area have appealed to the public for help in solving a case of motorbike theft.

In January, police recovered four motorbikes, three of which were known to have been stolen.
