A TATTOO studio is closing permanently and its owners said the decision is 'out of their hands'.

Inkys Tattoo, at Earls Court Road in Amesbury, announced on Monday afternoon (January 1) that it would be closing shop at the beginning of February.

Owners of the 12-year-old business, Jason and Kirsty, took to social media to describe the situation as a "shock to the system" but assured customers that their current bookings are secure.

A spokesperson for Inkys Tattoo said: "The whole thing is out of our hands and is unfortunately happening.

"We would like to take this opportunity to thank every customer we have had over the last 12 years for their custom and amazing support it's been a blast."

Admitting they have "nothing planned yet", the pair said they will "just see what pans out".

The closure news was met with sadness from customers who shared heartfelt messages and memories on the social media post.

One customer said: "This is so sad, I wanted my little boy's paw print and I don’t trust anyone else. You have been amazing and wish you and your family all the very best for the future."

Another customer who had two tattoo sleeves completed at Inkys said he was "gutted" to hear the studio was closing.

Inkys Tattoo was contacted for more information.
