NOW is the time to drag those rusty old cycles out of the garden shed and polish up your cycling skills, for Trade Aid's New Forest charity Challenge will soon be upon us again.
People can register now for this fun run and ride to be held on September 14, raising funds for the community of Mikindani in Tanzania.
Organisers are expecting more than 300 participants of all abilities to join together in the glorious countryside around Fordingbridge.
The rides start at Rose Farm in Stuckton (SP6 2HG) between 9am and 10.30am.
There is a choice of three routes of nine, 15 and 22 miles.
All the routes go past picturesque New Forest pubs where refreshments and a warm welcome will be on hand.
And there will be a Trade Aid African style barbecue with jazz band at Rose Farm from 11.30am to 4pm.
This annual event aims to raise more than £10,000 to help provide sustainable employment opportunities in a small African community where the average person earns less than £5 a week and one in five children die before the age of five.
Jane Langford, Trade Aid organiser, said: "This is an event for everyone - young and old, individuals and teams, runners as well as riders.
"The emphasis is on having fun - last year we even had some teams participating in fancy dress!"
There are prizes for best team name, fastest time and most money raised.
Everyone entering receives a free Trade Aid T-shirt or polo shirt, to wear on the day.
"The party atmosphere makes for a great day out. We are hoping to make this year's event even bigger and better than last year, so register today - tell all your family, friends and work colleagues too."
To register for the event phone 01425 657774 or email info@tradeaiduk.org. Maps and sponsor forms can be downloaded from www.tradeaiduk.org.
Entry costs £10 per adult and £5 per child.
