A CAR split in half after a crash with a coach on the A303 which left two men hospitalised.

The crash happened around 10.45am on Thursday, February 22, on the A303 near Chicklade.

Police and an air ambulance from Dorset and Somerset air ambulance service were in attendance.

The car, a Toyota Rav4, split in half upon impact.

A police spokesperson said: "At around 10.45am this morning we responded to a collision between a coach and a car on the A303 near Chicklade.

"The driver of the vehicle, a man in his 70s, was taken to hospital with leg injuries.

"The driver of the coach, a man in his 40s, was taken to hospital as a precaution.

"The road was closed to allow for recovery and has since reopened."

In a post on X, formerly twitter, Wiltshire Special Ops said: "Amazingly only a fractured leg to the occupant."
