A RINGWOOD kickboxing coach has won three British kickboxing titles to secure her position in 2025 world championship.

Elizabeth Ferioli-Brown, 48, who is a kickboxing coach for Ringwood Kickboxing Organisation, won three British kickboxing titles at the WAKO British Nationals in Nottingham.

Liz entered in the -65kg and +65kg continuous divisions as well as the -65kg points division and won all three categories taking gold at the titles.

She said: "Last year I won the world championships in Portugal and sustained a rib injury from that so I hadn't been able to train as hard as I normally would.

"Then once it recovered, it got infected and developed a cyst so I had to have that cut out. Throughout the British championship I had an open wound that I was told don't get it hit."

Despite the setback of her injury, Liz was able to secure her position at the world championships once again, which will take place in 2025 in Abu Dhabi.

However, Liz is aware there's lots of steps beforehand including the European championships this year.

She said: "All being well, I'll be at the Europeans but it all depends on if we've got enough to fund ourselves and it can be quite expensive.

"We need almost four sets of kit as we do two disciplines. Your headguards are near £100 you need two of them, the gloves, elbow pads, then the chest guard and then the kick boots. You're looking at £600. And that's before you get flights and hotels and all the other £2,000 on top."

However, Liz and five other athletes has been fortunate to receive support from her husband, who owns R. Brown Specialist Laundry Engineering.

On top of Liz's success, both her daughters, Katrina Ferioli, 13, and Jasmine Ferioli, nine, also competed in the British championships.

Liz said: "Kickboxing has been a massive part of their lives. I remember doing a fight night and Katrina was in the pram and I wheeled her up to the ringside.

"They both did amazing and to see Katrina get a bronze was phenomenal."
