THE Fabulous Family Fun Day which each year raises money for Salisbury Hospice Charity is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year - and the organisers need your help.c

The event was started by Greig Futcher and his friends and family, to raise funds in memory of his wife, Lyn, who was cared for by Salisbury Hospice.

They wanted to recognise the outstanding care that Lyn, Greig and their young children received when Lyn died from breast cancer and to raise money in order that other patients and their families could receive the same dedicated care.

The Fabulous Family Fun Day has grown year on year and in 2023 it attracted around 3,000 attendees, raising in excess of £26,000 for Salisbury Hospice, making the overall total raised an incredible £100,000.

It is a free to enter event and the committee pride themselves on providing entertainment for all of the family.

Each year Salisbury Hospice Charity needs to raise £1.5 million of the £2.9 million running costs of the Hospice, in order to maintain and develop the dedicated care provided to those with a life-limiting illness and their families.

This year's event promises to be bigger and better than ever.

It will again take place at Salisbury Rugby Club, on Saturday, May 11 from 12noon.

Attractions include: a Live Music Stage, Beer Festival, Pimms and Prosecco Bar, Street Food, Football and Touch Rugby Tournaments, Children’s Entertainment (including Circus Wessex, face painting and bouncy castles) a Grand Raffle to win a holiday in Turkey and much more. A performance arena will be added for the 10th anniversary, with the Phoenix Stars, various dance troupes and a tug of war already booked to perform and more to follow.

Now the organisers need your help.

The committee is seeking sponsorship from local companies and individuals to help cover the core costs of running the event, in order to maximise funds raised for Salisbury Hospice.

In 2023 more than 25 local businesses sponsored the event and organisers are hoping to secure the same level of support this year.

They said: "We recognise that times are hard for many businesses; nonetheless, we hope that you will be able to support Salisbury Hospice at this time when their services are in more demand than ever and their costs are constantly increasing."

All sponsors will benefit from having their name /logo displayed on our sponsor’s board at the event and a social media post on the event’s social media pages.
