Comments (1)DOG owners have a chance to put Salisbury's Queen Elizabeth Gardens in the national Top 21 spots to go walkies.
The park was nominated by a local pet lover and has made it to a shortlist of 52 in the contest run by a pet food company.
By voting for it online you could also win a year's supply of dog food.
The contest is promoting twice-a-day dog walks as a way to tackle the growing problem of pet obesity.
It has the backing of tourism agency VisitBritain, whose chief executive Tom Wright said: "The economic climate is making it increasingly possible that many more people will opt for a UK break instead of going abroad.
"What's more, a domestic break is often the easiest and best way to holiday with your pet, letting you all enjoy long walks in the beautiful English countryside, beside the coast or in national parks.
"By providing a list of the top dog walking spots, we will encourage people to go and discover the fantastic beaches, parks and woodlands that the UK has to offer."
