WORK will finally start on the troubled £18.9m project to build new council offices at Bourne Hill next month.
The long running saga has been beset by spiralling costs, political rows and residents' protests but on September 29 work will start on the building that will house staff working for the new Wiltshire Council.
Over the coming weeks preparation works will get underway including installing temporary footpaths, carrying out tree preservation and surgery, erecting a perimeter fence around the site and establishing accommodation for the contractors.
For the next 16 months a section of College Street car park will be closed off and access will be via Belle Vue Road.
The path linking the car park to Bourne Hill will also be shut.
