A SPONSORED ride organised by a Shrewton couple in memory of their young son helped raise £4500 for Southampton General Hospital.
Little Bradley Arnold died during a routine operation at the hospital aged just six after receiving treatment there for chronic heart disease since he was born.
His parents, Hannah and Nigel, launched a fundraising drive in his memory with the aim of raising £5000 to buy 11 heart monitors.
Over 100 people turned up with their bikes to ride along a 2.4-mile course at the Thruxton Circuit near Andover.
Several local businesses donated goods and services and Hannah and Nigel would like to thank Delcom, Witt Tree Services, Hildon Water, Discover Adventure, George Smith Horseboxes and Scats along with everyone who helped with marshalling, setting up and signing in. They really appreciate everyone's kindness and generosity. There are plans in the pipeline for another event next year.
