HOLLYWOOD glitz and glamour came to the doors of Avon Valley College as guests walked the red carpet to the school’s second Oscars Award evening.
Students, parents and staff gathered to celebrate pupils’ achievements throughout the year.
The MC for the evening was ex student and Radio One presenter, Claire Sturgess. Claire worked for XFM for 10 years, but has recently taken up a position at the newly launched NME radio, where she presents the daily Breakfast Show.
This year the student awards were sponsored by local companies and Bath University, who all donated book tokens or gift vouchers.
A musical interlude featured Rio McQueen and Suzanne Wilson playing the clarinets and then Suzanne and her brother Robert sang an unaccompanied duet of "Somewhere over the Rainbow".
The floral displays were auctioned at the end of the evening, with the money raised going to Cancer Research and research for Multiple Sclerosis.
