THE jungle came to Alderbury and West Grimstead Primary School on Thursday as children got to grips with a python and a tarantula as well as all sorts of other animals they may never have seen before.
The youngsters had a visit from Jonathan Cleverly and his jungle roadshow and got the chance to learn more about aninals including rainbow stag beetles and stick insects.
Headteacher Paddy Macey said: "Jonathan brought a range of creatures to the school normally only seen first hand in a jungle or a zoo.
"The children had opportunities to ask questions about the creatures for Jonathan, the expert, to answer."
All pupils at the school, from early years to year 6 had the opportunity to look at, and even handle, the creatures and to discover more about them.
