SALISBURY District Council leader Paul Sample will be getting on his bike to raise money in memory of a friend and fellow councillor.
Cllr Simon Howarth died at Salisbury Hospice in September last year.
Cllr Sample hopes to raise £500 for the hospice.
He will be riding in an event jointly organised by the council and cycling group Bike Events on March 29.
Entrants can choose between two routes - a shorter one suitable for families or one aimed at more serious riders - both starting and finishing at the athletics track next to Five Rivers Leisure Centre.
