WILTSHIRE Police are appealing for witnesses following a robbery in Salisbury on Sunday.
A 20-year-old man was walking along Queen Street between 1.15am and 2am, talking on his mobile phone, when he heard a man shout out in a foreign accent.
He looked around and saw a group of four or five men, one of whom approached him and punched him in the face, causing him to drop his mobile.
He sustained a black eye and reddening and swelling to his face, but did not need hospital treatment.
The victim was able to run away from the group and saw the same man who had punched him pick up his mobile, before the group carried on walking towards Queens Street.
The offender is described as white, in his early 20s, of average build and 6ft tall. He had short dark hair and was wearing a pink shirt. It is thought his accent was possibly eastern European.
Anyone who has information on this group of men or who was in the area of Queen Street between 1am and 2am on July 5 is asked to contact PC Darren Willis of Salisbury Police on 0845 4087000 or Crimestoppers 0800 555111.
