Apple tree marks big year for Bramleys
A BRAMLEY apple tree has been planted in the grounds of a Mere care home to celebrate the tree’s 200th anniversary.
The tree was donated to Fives Court by Mere Gardening Club and planted in a ceremony attended by staff and local volunteer fundraisers for the care home.
Manager Jessica Young said everyone liked the new tree. “It is in the early stages at the moment but we are looking forward to getting some apples and doing some baking,” she added.
