A SALISBURY hair and beauty salon completed a week of fundraising events for cancer charities with a fashion show on Friday.

No Sixty Hair, Nails & Beauty ran events throughout last week and raised over £2,000 for Cancer Research and Macmillan Cancer Support.

They started with a ladies 'cutathon' on Tuesday, followed by eight brave men getting their chests, legs and backs waxed on Wednesday.

On Thursday they had a children's pirate and princesses party with face painting and games and the week culminated on Friday with a fashion show and raffle at Milford Hall Hotel.

About 100 people filled the hotel to watch the 18 models, three of whom are currently undergoing cancer treatment, strut their stuff in clothes donated by local stores, including Phase Eight, Ulla Popken, Brides by Victoria, Carolyn Law Bridal Design, Chas H Baker, Julia's Shoes and Sugar Plum Fairy Shoes.

The raffle prizes were all donated by local businesses and the show was hosted by Britain's Got Talent runner-up Damon Scott.

Nicky Wyatt, one of the organisers, said: "It was a lot of hard work, but really good fun and we've been asked to organise another so I think that means it went well.

"I'd just like to say a huge thank you to everyone for supporting us and to Damon for presenting it."
