PUPILS from South Wilts Grammar School have joined the fight to beat world hunger by taking part in a school dinner fundraising campaign.

The Really Good School Dinner, now in its second year, involves adding an extra 10p to the cost of each school dinner, which will go to the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP).

The donation to the humanitarian agency, the largest one fighting hunger worldwide, is enough to pay for a whole meal for a child who might otherwise go hungry.

Pupils visited Parliament for a reception to launch the campaign, led by the School Food Trust in partnership with WFP and Schools for Africa, which will run in January.
