AN 18-YEAR-OLD man faces two and a half years in prison for causing actual bodily harm to two teenagers during a camping trip in Larkhill.

Arron Richardson, of Gardiner Road in Larkhill, was camping with friends near the Strangways on April 25 when it was alleged he shot at Matthew Purves, 19, and a 17-year-old girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, with a BB gun.

Mr Purves, who sustained 21 wounds in the attack, was in the tent with the girl when he said Richardson ripped open the zipped compartment and started firing at them.

Richardson was charged with two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and was found guilty following a trial held at Salisbury Crown Court last month. The jury failed to reach on a charge of possessing an imitation firearm.

Judge Thomas Longbotham sentenced him at Southampton Crown Court on Friday and ordered the 214 days he has served on remand be deducted from the two and a half years.
