CHILDREN at Ringwood Junior School donned hats for Haiti on Friday to help raise more than £400 for the Haiti earthquake appeal.
There were sombreros, chef’s hats, glitzy hats and even Easter bonnets had an early airing as the youngsters sported hats the like of which you’d normally spot at Ascot.
Jo Hawker from the school said: “There were so many, it was wonderful. I don’t know that any child or member of staff was without a hat.
“It was a lovely atmosphere all day and obviously the children knew all about why they were doing it.”
Children from Year 5 also planned and ran a cake sale at the end of the day, which raised £89 towards the total.
