SIX Red Devils made a spectacular entrance to a wedding reception at Cholderton on Friday afternoon.
L/Cpl John Woods, himself a member of the Red Devils freefall display team, married Amy Ford from Durrington and his team members literally descended upon Cholderton village green.
The Devils had only just completed a tandem jump with one of the Sugababes prior to arriving at the church and, straight after the service, they were changing back into their gear to make their entrance to the reception.
John, 25, who was born in Salisbury, is in his second year with the freefall team who can jump from heights of up to 13,000ft, descending at speeds in excess of 120mph in about 60 seconds of freefall.
The happy couple met at the bar at the “drop zone”.
However new bride Amy, 21, does not share John’s passion for jumping out of planes.
He said: “She’s petrified of it.”
John and Amy were married at All Saints Church in Durrington, where Amy’s mother also married a Red Devil.
