A POSTMAN was attacked when he was delivering mail to properties in Cowesfield.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault, which happened just after 1.30pm on April 20 when the 45-year-old postman, based at Salisbury, was delivering along the A27.
He was approached by a mixed-race man, who punched and kicked him, leaving him with minor cuts and bruises.
PC Andy Willcox, who is investigating the incident, would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the assault or seen a dark blue saloon car in the vicinity.
He said: "This is believed to be a road rage type incident as the attacker accused his victim of nearly causing him to crash."
The offender is described to be aged in his late 20s to early 30s, about 6ft tall of a slim build, with dark coloured hair which was very short around the sides but longer in the middle.
Contact PC Willcox by calling 0845 4087000 or emailing him at andy.willcox@wiltshire.pnn.police.uk.
He is on duty until 4pm today and will be back on duty on Tuesday from 7am to 4pm.

Of course, local and national police crime stats won't show this because it isnt PC.
Be warned, more immigrants means more crime. Think about that when you vote.
