THERE are several new faces in Salisbury’s Cathedral Choir line-up as five new boys have just been welcomed as choristers.
In a ceremony last Sunday, the new members were welcomed and Henry Cooper, 13, was appointed Head Boy Chorister.
The new additions are nine-year-olds Alexander Halls and Alex Tan from Salisbury, Nicholas Fletcher, aged nine from Alderbury, ten-year-old Joss Nelson from Wilton and Benjamin Harding, aged ten from Urchfont, near Devizes.
David Halls, director of music, said: “It was a lovely service and good to see so many friends and supporters of the youngsters sharing this important day with them.
“Henry Cooper’s new appointment is due reward for his ongoing leadership of the choir throughout the year and gives him the authority he deserves within the boys’ choir.
“It is always exciting training new choristers. This year’s boys are a particularly lively group and are going to be great fun to work with.”
