THIS Saturday is Cranborne Church Fete, and organisers are pulling out all the stops to make it the best ever.

The fete will be held in the gardens of Cranborne Manor from 2pm to 4pm and entrance will cost £2 for adults and £1.50 for seniors and children under 12.

New this year will be a guess the weight of the pig competition and a grand |tug-of-war event for the Cranborne Cup.

Special extra events for |children include fancy dress as well as a |miniature |garden contests and the ever popular pony rides.

There will be traditional |maypole dancing from pupils at Cranborne First School, and music from both Ringwood Community Choir and Verwood Training Band.

Cranborne Historic Society will be staging a fascinating exhibition of photographs and memorabilia which is of local interest too.

There will also be all the traditional stalls such as plants, cakes, books, produce, toys, white |elephant and many others, including a splendid raffle.

Visitors can indulge in a glass of Pimms or enjoy an |ice cream, or tea and a |tempting home-made cake.
