PARK AND RIDE buses are coming to the rescue of people from the Till and Wylye Valley who need to commute to London by train.
Cllr Ian West approached Wiltshire Council after receiving complaints from residents who had problems parking at Salisbury station in the mornings.
He said: “As a result they have arranged for the first bus on weekdays only to leave the Wilton Park and Ride site earlier, at 7.25am, and drop passengers off outside the railway station on request before continuing its journey to the city centre.
“This should hopefully allow enough time for passengers to buy a ticket and catch the 7.45am train to London.”
Cllr West added: “Unfortunately it has not been possible to provide a connection with any of the earlier trains, but I have been told this request will be put forward when the Park and Ride scheme is reviewed later in the year.”
