CHILDREN, parents and staff celebrated the 40th birthday of a pre-school with a party for the whole community.
Winterslow pre-school first opened its doors in 1968 in the old parish hall and Edna Webb, a member of the committee who established it was one of the guests at the event.
The party was open to the whole village and there were displays showing the pre-school past and present, including many photos and news cuttings donated by local historian Norman Thorne, as well as many showing the activities enjoyed by the current pre-school children.
There was a bouncy castle and activities for the children while the adults reminisced, then all enjoyed a traditional birthday tea with past staff and helpers cutting the birthday cake.
