PEOPLE are being urged to have their say on proposals to scrap weekly rubbish collections before the consultation period ends on August 20.

Currently householders across the county have different waste and recycling collections depending upon where they live.

Wiltshire Council wants to provide the same service across the county and is asking people what they think about the proposed changes.

The proposal is that the council continues with the existing black box recycling collection and also provides kerbside collection of plastic bottles and cardboard every two weeks and an optional free kerbside collection of garden waste every two weeks.

But non-recyclable rubbish will be collected every two weeks rather than each week.

People can have their say by picking up a questionnaire at the nearest council office, or library emailing wasteconsultation@wiltshire.gov.uk or calling 0300 456 0102 * Council waste officers will be available to answer questions at Tesco in Tidworth on August 13 from 10am to 12noon and at Waitrose in Salisbury the following day between the same times.
