POLICE in Ringwood are warning teenage girls to be on their guard after two frightening encounters.

The first was at 6.30pm on July 15 when a 13-year-old girl was approached by a man in a black car when walking in Southampton Road. She ran to a friend’s home.

An e-fit picture of the man shows him with dark coloured gelled hair and wearing glasses. He was white, in his 40s, with a round clean-shaven face. He wore a light-coloured work shirt.

The second incident happened last Thursday at about 4.30pm, when a man on a bicycle approached two 14-year-old girls sitting on a bench opposite the White Hart pub in Poulner.

He asked if they wanted to go to the pub with him and made inappropriate remarks to the teenagers who walked off in disgust.

He is white, in his 50s, tanned, clean shaven and with grey hair with the fringe brushed forward. He wore three-quarter-length jeans, trainers and a light blue or grey round-necked t-shirt.
