A MAN who threw himself in front of a train had made several previous attempts to kill himself, an inquest heard.

Father-of-three Richard Tesch, 36, from Salisbury, stepped into the path of an 800-tonne freight train at East Dean level crossing near Romsey on January 10.

The inquest, held at Winchester Coroner’s Court on Wednesday, heard he had been behaving erratically and had been upset about the break up of his relationship.

A jury returned a verdict of suicide.
