POLICE have confirmed a package found outside Salisbury Police Station is not a bomb.
A man brought a package into the station shortly after 3.30pm after he found it on a vehicle and thought it was suspicious.
The area around the station in Wilton Road was cordoned off and nearby eight buildings and the Shell garage were evacuated following the discovery.
The bomb disposal squad attended the scene and confirmed shortly before 6.15pm that the package is not any form of explosive. It has been taken away for forensic examinations.
The cordon has now been lifted and roads in the area have been reopened.
