A HOUSE in Allington would be “virtually engulfed” by a proposed extension, according to a planning inspector.
Wiltshire Council refused planning permission for a two-storey extension to the property, in Bourne View, but the householder launched an appeal.
But following a site visit on October 6, inspector Simon Hand has dismissed the appeal due to the impact of the proposal on the character and appearance of the house and the surrounding area.
“The proposal would be a massive structure that would completely unbalance the house and the terrace as a whole,” said Mr Hand.
