A HEARTWARMING reunion marked the tenth anniversary of Dogs Trust’s rehoming centre in Newton Tony on Sunday.

Collie cross Poppy was found to be pregnant just after she had been rehomed by the centre in 2005.

Her adoptive family rearranged their lives to take care of the puppies until they were ready to leave their mother.

All the people who adopted the pups stayed in touch with the centre.

And at the weekend they were all there to celebrate the anniversary with cake and Buck’s Fizz.

There were treats in store, too, at the charity’s shop in Crane Street on Saturday when it celebrated its first anniversary.

A giant mascot greeted shoppers in the city centre, and goods were being offered at a 10 per cent discount.

Dogs Trust Salisbury manager Alison Rodger said: “Since we opened our kennels in 2000 we’ve found wonderful homes for more than 4,000 gorgeous dogs. And our shop is bringing in vital funds enabling us to continue. These are milestones worthy of celebrating.”
