MORE details have emerged following a fatal road traffic collision in Salisbury this morning.
An ambulance spokesman has revealed the woman who was killed was the passenger in the car and the male driver suffered a severe spinal injury and is being treated at Salisbury District Hospital.
It is believed they are a couple in their 70s or 80s. No more details will be revealed until police have notified next of kin.
The accident happened at about 11am when a car collided with a lorry on the A36 Southampton Road.
The lorry driver was assessed at the scene but was uninjured.
Police closed the road between College roundabout and Bourne Way roundabout by Tesco and there was heavy traffic on the dual carriageway. The northbound road has now reopened.
