POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a crash on the A36 Southampton Road yesterday that killed an 81-year-old woman.
The woman, from Andover, was a passenger in a blue Citroen Saxo being driven towards Southampton which collided head-on with a Volvo articulated lorry travelling towards Salisbury at 11am.
She was taken to Salisbury District Hospital but died from her injuries. The elderly driver of the car is in a critical condition in hospital.
The 48-year-old driver of the lorry, from Bournemouth was not injured.

He is particularly keen to talk to the driver of a metallic blue Honda Jazz which was driving along Southampton Road at the time of the collision.
