PIRATES and people in tutus were among those in 29 teams who cycled their hearts out to raise money for charity at a spinathon in Salisbury at the weekend.
MPs John Glen and Claire Perry also took part in Salisbury Spin to Cure Diabetes, which was organised by the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund (JDRF) and held outside the Guildhall on Saturday.
Teams of five took part, taking in turns to cycle eight-minute interval sprints on static bikes.
The King and Queen of Spin were Rob Boyd from the team European Spin Time Directive and Lara Morgan from Glucose Girls 2.
European Spin Time Directive also won the overall prize for covering the most distance. A number of teams did the challenge in fancy dress and the Best Dressed prize went to Spin Stars, who were dressed as pirates.
The money is still being collected but the event is expected to raise more than £8,000.
