CENTENARIAN Ivy Guscott had a special visitor to help her celebrate her 100th birthday on Wednesday.
Her son, Brian, flew over from the USA to join other relatives and friends at a party held at Stratford Court care home in Salisbury, where she has lived for the last three years.
Born in London, Mrs Guscott moved to Wilton as a child, just after the First World War, and has spent most of her life in the area.
Mrs Guscott and her sister Lily Orchard, who celebrated a 100th birthday a few years ago, worked at Wilton carpet factory when they were younger and when she was in her early 20s Mrs Guscott married her husband Ernest and they had a son Brian.
Despite spending most of her life in Wilton, Mrs Guscott has also travelled the world and her son Brian said she has seen a lot of America and most of Europe.
She even lived with him and his family near San Francisco during the 80s and 90s.
Mrs Guscott, who has four grandchildren and two great grandchildren, was also joined on her landmark birthday by her younger brother Roy Golding, 86.
His wife Joyce said: “When she was younger Ivy was a wonderful cook and a great hostess.”
