CHAMPAGNE corks popped and the tea flowed at an open day to celebrate the re-opening of Bishopstone village hall.
The hall closed in the summer for major refurbishment work including installing new catering facilities, a bar and a storeroom.
Funding for the £133,000 extension came from villagers, a Big Lottery grant, Wiltshire Council and charities.
Members of the community were invited to admire the hall on Saturday and it is hoped that more people will sign up for groups that run there.
The hall is used for film nights, fitness classes, social groups and parties and there will now be even more on offer for all ages. Chairman of the hall’s management committee Norman Barter said: “There will be a formal re-opening of the hall early next year but it belongs to the community so we thought it important for villagers to see what has been done as soon as the work was finished.”
