A FORMER Ringwood carnival queen is preparing to battle it out against a bevy of beauties for the title of Miss Hampshire.

Lorna Bews, 21, has made it to the final of the Miss Hampshire competition, the winner of which will be announced at West Quay in Southampton on February 24.

The 2006 carnival queen is now a professional dancer and dance teacher and has a passion for travelling.

Miss Bews started dancing at the age of two and scooped a dance contract at Disneyland Paris when she was 18.

Since then she has danced around the world, including in Australia, Peru and Brazil and she landed a teaching and choreography contract in New York last year.

She damaged her knee, which resulted in an operation which has left her out of the dancing spotlight until May.

She said: “Dancing isn’t just a hobby, it is my way of life. It’s been my dream and passion since I was little and I intend to go back stronger than ever before.”

The judges will make the final decision to crown Miss Hampshire, but you can vote for your favourite to help her win the Miss Popularity crown on the night.

The woman who is crowned Miss Hampshire will go through to the Miss England final and the winner of Miss England represents the country at Miss World.

Popularity voting is open until Friday February 24 at miss|england.info/regionals/hampshire.
