PLANS to build a two-bedroom bungalow in Alderbury have been refused by a planning committee.
Harvey Euridge had applied to build a two-bedroom bungalow behind three new homes in Southampton Road.
But Wiltshire Council received 12 letters of objection from members of the public calling it garden grabbing and urbanisation of a rural setting.
Concerns were also raised about the loss of trees and hedges, parking and access.
The council’s southern area planning committee said it was inappropriate backland development because the proposal has an “uncharacteristically small front garden” in relation to the other houses and the gap between the proposed house and neighbouring Out of the Way is also too small.
