SINGING sensation Paloma Faith has been announced as the Thursday night headliner at July’s Larmer Tree Festival.

The British singer/songwriter and actress made her breakthrough in 2009 with her debut album Do You Want the Truth or Something Beautiful?

which spawned no less than five hit singles including the song Stone Cold Sober.

She has also appeared in films making her debut in the remake of St Trinians as well as The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus and most recently being involved with the television programme, The Voice UK.

Combining a powerful voice with theatrical flair, as well as being renowned for her quite extreme fashion, Paloma Faith looks set to brighten the stage at Larmer Tree.

James Shepard, founder and co-director of Larmer Tree Festival says: “There is definitely going to be a buzzing theatrical feel to Thursday night with comedy headliner Tim Minchin rocking with his unique blend of musical comedy, followed by Paloma’s distinctive, dramatic performance.

This year’s festival looks set to be our best yet.”

Other headliners announced so far include Jools Holland, Roland Gift, Levellers and Amadou & Marian.

Festival goers can also look forward to an exciting new element to this year’s event. The festival has teamed up with Songs from the Shed to capture artists performing raw acoustic sessions in the intimate setting of a garden shed. By special invitation only, a small, select number of festival goers will have a unique opportunity to sneak away from the main festival and experience one of these secret performances.

Larmer Tree Festival runs from Wednesday July 11 to Sunday July 15 in the grounds of the Larmer Tree gardens. Ticket information is available online from larmertreefestival.co.uk/tickets.html
