A FREE holiday play scheme in Ringwood is back again this year.

Carvers Recreation Ground will be host to the event, which will be run by Jonathan the Jester of Table Top Circus.

It will be based on the former grass tennis courts next to the children’s play area and the holiday fun club will take place on Mondays and Thursdays, 10am until noon, from July 26 until August 30, excluding Bank Holiday Monday, August 27.

For children up to 12 years of age, parents and older siblings are also welcome. An adult must remain with each child under eight years of age for the duration of every session.

In addition there will be two ‘teen’ sessions on Mondays, August 6 and 20 from noon to 2pm. A varied programme will include games, balloon modelling, fun shops, stilt walkers, entertainers and circus skills, with a chance to show off at the end.

n TWO Verwood teenagers have been handed a year’s community order after stealing food and drinks from a Ringwood shop.

Noah Peter George Chapman, 19, of Bingham Road, and Matthew John Huxter, 19, of Edmonsham Road, stole bacon, drinks and other products worth £30 from the Co-op at The Bridges on April 19.

Southampton magistrates ordered them both to do 60 hours of unpaid work in the community.
