IN the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee year the village hall, bedecked with union flags and bunting, was the setting for Winterslow Singers and friends to celebrate all things British.

From our obsession with the weather to a night at the proms, street parties to afternoon tea, the audience was encouraged to join in with well-known songs and was entertained by others that were less familiar.

Joined by Bourne Valley Quartet and Close Harmony, the evening was a truly family affair with music and refreshments enjoyed by young and old.

The audience waved their flags enthusiastically as the entire company finished the festivities with Land of Hope and Glory.

Ticket sales and donations during the performance raised £200 each for Salisbury Hospice and Project Uganda.

The next concert will be on September 29, and the group hopes to see you there.

The Winterslow Singers are a friendly and ambitious group, who welcome new members.
