THE Beckford Arms at Tisbury has been honoured with an Alastair Sawday’s pub award.

The latest edition of Sawday’s Special Places Pubs and Inns of England & Wales comprises more than 900 of Britain’s very best pubs with just 12 selected to receive an award in one of four categories.

The Beckford Arms was one of the three winners in the pub with rooms category and founder Alistair Sawday praised its “chilled-out vibe, with hammocks in the pretty garden, a roaring fire in the bar, delicious country cooking, Sunday film nights, and sublime bedrooms upstairs.

“Winning is a terrific achievement for the hard-working landlords, landladies, chefs and staff,” he said.
