TWO musical teenagers have organised a fundraising day in Tidworth to raise money for charities close to their hearts.

Steph Whitehead, 15, who is in Salisbury band Subject Matter, will have her 18 inches of hair cut off to raise money for Scotty’s Little Soldiers, which supports children who have lost a parent in the armed forces.

She said: “I’m from a military background and it helps a lot of people who have been affected. It’s a really good cause.”

Fellow band member Oscar Rees will have his entire body waxed to raise money for the Piam Brown Ward at Southampton General Hospital, which treats children with cancer.

Oscar’s five-year-old niece, Ellie Davidson, had leukaemia and received treatment on the ward.

As well as the waxing and hair cutting, there will be live music, face painting, a raffle, and other stalls and entertainment at the Royal British Legion from 2pm to 5pm on July 7. To donate, email steph-oscar-fundraiser@hotmail.com.
