HOODWINK Theatre’s Jamboree tart trail, organised as part of Ageas Salisbury International Arts Festival, proved hugely popular and the theatre company has said thank you to all the participating venues who looked after Her Majesty the Queen of Hearts’ tarts so well.

Winners of the Jamboree Royal Baking challenge were Henry and Oliver Browning from Salisbury with Royal Jelly and Squidgy Squidgy Sixty Cake and staff of Salisbury Arts Centre cafe with Queen of Arts cake.

Stephanie Jalland, artistic director of Hoodwink said that the Queen of Hearts’ visit to Salisbury “was a jamtastic success”.

Hoodwink baked 100s of jam tarts with children at Sarum St Paul’s and Woodlands primary schools. Young people from The Hood, Hoodwink’s young company, and members of Mind the Gap senior citizens group from Salisbury Playhouse performed alongside the professional cast in Jamboree on Saturday, June 2. The waiting crowds waved heart shaped flags and enjoyed cake and jam tarts in the sunshine.
