ART, music and photography students at the Burgate School and Sixth Form Centre in Fordingbridge showcased their work at a creative arts evening at the school.

A fashion show of the designs of textile students was weaved into the evening, wowing the 250-strong audience with a selection of innovative designs, from formal to flouncy.

A stunning display of photographs crammed the foyer of the Sarum Building, while art students exhibited their work in the sixth form.

Year 10 band The Jalapenos kicked of the night followed with dance performances from Josie Bradford, Jessica Buckmaster, Amy Foot and Bethany Gower.

Year 7 pupil George Batty performed a gymnastic display and the audience was kept amused with the wit of Daniel Shering and Jacob Warham.

A school spokesman said: “The event was very successful, highlighting the creative flare and innovation of this year’s textile design students. The catwalk show featured a small selection of creative costumes from GCSE students that included Aboriginal inspired dresses, African inspired costumes and Japanese street wear.

“It was a very professional show and reflected the hard work and passion from our very talented pupils.”
