THOUSANDS of people witnessed the ancient stones of Stonehenge brought to life in a spectacular fire installation this week.

Fire Garden opened on Tuesday night and finishes tonight and has been created by French street artists Compagnie Carabosse.

Giant circles filled with pots of fire, metallic dancing fire sculptures and ghostly lanterns inside the stone circle creates a fiery landscape for this site specific installation which starts at 9pm and ends at midnight.

The event is part of London 2012 Festival, the three-month cultural celebration coinciding with the Olympics and organised by Salisbury International Arts Festival.
